A Summer Night Of Song!
We ended our first year with a celebration of all things warm and wonderful!
The Youth choir brought energy and power with songs like singing songs like Speechless from the film Aladdin and Myles Smith's Stargazing, and more peaceful moments with Higgins' arrangement of Scarborough Fair and Enya's May it be from The Lord of the Rings.
The Chamber Choir also welcomed the joy of the summertime with Vaughan-Williams' Just as the tide was flowing and Morley's intense Fire Fire! That special wamth of a summer evening was portrayed by Barber's Sure on this shining night, the ever beautiful Beati quorum via by Stanford and the heartfelt Cantique de Jean Racine by Fauré. The evening finished in joint rendition of Will Todd's Like a rainbow shining, a piece that reminds us that together we are stronger, and all our individual colours will shine.
Thanks to everyone's generosity, we collected another £405 for Kings Heath Foodbank, bringing the total for the year to £1507. A huge thank you to all who have supported both us and them!
Sounds of Spring!
On Friday March 20th, 7.30pm, we will welcome the spring together through an array of joyful and harmonious music. Our Youth choir has had fun exploring an energetic sea shanty, the harmonies of a quieter folk arrangement and inviting upbeat songs as well as a mash-up of Tonight from Hamilton and You will be Found from Dear Evan Hansen. There is no doubt they will get everybody tapping their feet!
Meanwhile, our chamber choir has expanded into more adventurous harmonies and traditions. Polyphony by Byrd and Viadana, Romantic part songs by Elgar and Pinsuti, the iconic Locus Iste by Bruckner and modern harmonies by Reid and Barnum round off the programme. Together, it will be an expose of choir music through the ages - all in aid of Kings Heath Foodbank. Free Entry, but donations are encouraged. Welcome!
Dec 2025:
Thank You!
It was so lovely to see so many people at our first ever concert on Monday. Not only did you provide a wonderful atmosphere, but having such a lovely audience made performing to you even more exciting. And together we raised £550 for the Kings Heath Foodbank, as well as several bags of provisions. Thank you ever so much. I hope you have a wonderful holiday, and am looking forward to seeing you again in the spring!
For singers, the new term starts Monday January 5th!
