Kings Heath Choirs started in September 2025, and it has been a whirlwind. For me, singing is not only an important part of life, but also a vital form of self expression and relaxation – something that should be shared. When you sing with others it becomes a sociable exchange where voices can meld together, create something greater than the individual and reach beyond the immediate space. No matter how tired or troubled, I always leave a rehearsal with a new spring in my step, and I think everyone should have the chance to experience that. I started these choirs to create more opportunities for people to sing regardless of situation; The Youth Choir for teenagers and a more advanced Chamber Choir that also accept older teenage singers. The repertoire of the two might be very different, but the essence of coming together in a singing community is the same. Together we learn, explore and grow through music, and have a lot of fun along the way too!
